Oiltanking Amsterdam is occupied with the renovation and re-approval of the whole tank terminal. The piping at Oiltanking Amsterdam is unique with all jetties connected to all storage tanks. As a result, there is a relatively large amount of piping in each tank pit. SGS Roos+Bijl was asked to calculate all adaptations and assist with the link between 3D scans, 3D drawings and the associated calculations of the pipelines present.
For Oiltanking Amsterdam, seven tank pits and one pumping station were examined and calculated in conformity with the PED directives and brought in line with EN13480. These calculations were made with the Caesar II program. For situations in the tank pits with many unsuspended connections (T-pieces and bends) use is made of the FEA Tools software to model the flexibility of the system as well as possible.
In addition, the design drawing work was created for the renovation and we supervised the measuring work for contractor A. Hak.
