Coordination of cables and piping during the erection of noise barriers
Accessibility and the environment are at the heart of the OV SAAL project. Activities take place both on the road and railroad track to improve the connection between Schiphol-Amsterdam Almere-Lelystad (SAAL). Close cooperation between the Rijkswaterstaat and ProRail will reduce the impact on the environment to the extent possible.
We were involved in the construction of the noise barriers along the track in Almere. The noise barriers are rected on foundation posts, which leads to interfaces with with existing cables and piping. Optimum coordination with grid operators is required for good engineering, which always aims to avoid re-routing cables and piping
Activities
During this project we carried out activities such as: a shared area examination for the construction of construction roads and noise barriers, coordination consultation with cables and piping managers, civil and GWW, the coordination of excavation and pilot trenches. Work and object plans were also drawn up with guidance for the execution phase. The work plans were then verified by cable and piping managers.
